Course details

The ABC Level 2 Companion Animal Anatomy & Physiology Unit Certification is designed to provide individuals with an opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of animal system physiology and anatomical structures. This course provides learners with the required understanding of anatomy and physiology to begin further learning to pursue a career in animal care or Veterinary Nursing.

Following course completion learners will be able to confidently describe the function of the anatomical structures within the body and may wish to use this certification to access higher level courses.

All course delivery is online
As this course is theory based all materials and assessments will be provided online. You will be allocated an experienced and qualified tutor to support you through the qualification.
To be able to meet different learner needs the College of Companion Animal Studies uses different types of teaching materials such as:

· Workbooks
· Information booklets
· Articles
· Prezi, Quizlet and Kahoot

We find that providing learners with a variety of different learning materials increases engagement with the course content and supports the retention of knowledge long term.
How is the course assessed?
On completion of this course you will receive a Certificate for Level 2 Unit Certification in Companion Animal Anatomy & Physiology awarded by ABC awards.

You will be given hand-in dates for your assessments, your work will be marked and feedback will be provided by your tutor. There are 9 assignments and one multiple choice and short answer exam which can be accommodated remotely.
Additional Considerations
To register on this qualification you must be 16 years and over.

There are no graded entry requirements but to be successful on this qualification it is important that you have previously studied at Level 1 or equivalent prior to registering on this course.
​
If your intention is to use this unit certification as an equivalent to science to gain access to a Veterinary Nurse course it is important that you contact your local Veterinary Nursing college to check whether they accept certification as part of the entry requirements.
